Studio

A skilled and incredibly passionate team of Interior Architects, Interior Designers & Coordinators who approach the world of interior design with a fresh and exciting perspective, paralleled with a humbled, down to earth ethos.

Jessica May Design, founded by Jessica Crane, is an Interior Design Practice creating one of a kind designs for both the Residential and Commercial Design sectors.

We proudly refrain from specialising in any particular area within interior design, as we feel the industry as a whole is too beautiful and inspired to not explore it all. What we do however specialise in, is the ability to adapt ourselves every single time we take on a new project.

Design for us is centred around our client as the core focus, we aim to not only meet, but explore and advance our clients brief to ensure their space and design are maximised to the fullest. If you have viewed or followed our work, you will notice an absence of style similarities, which is so intentional.

  • Jess

    Founder & Lead Designer

I live and breathe design and all nuances of this beautiful industry I chose to dedicate my career to all those years ago. Choosing a favourite part of the job is impossible, as I genuinely adore it all.

From the moment I started my studies nearly 8 years ago, I had a vision: to create an interior design practice that brought young and enthusiastic minds together to develop a service that made waves for all the right reasons.

Alongside my incredible team, I’ve developed a method and unique way of working with clients that in my opinion far exceeds the norms of the industry. I’ll always be humble, composed and kind, but instil into all of my team that nothing comes without hard work and dedication and that there is only one way to do things and that’s perfectly.

  • Abbie

    Interior Designer & FF&E Coordinator

Abbie, a graduate in Interior Architecture & Design from Sheffield Hallam University, has the most innate passion for design and creating beautiful spaces, she is incredibly organised and methodical and personally loves design schemes with a touch of glam, but that are homely and liveable.

Abbie specialises in FF&E and has an incredible understanding and love for fabrics and finishes and has the most amazing eye for putting together the most beautiful finish schemes.

In her free time you will often find Abbie at the gym. She loves to socialise and spends the majority of her time with her friends and family.

  • Angie

    Studio & Logistics Manager

Originating from a high level management position in the quality sector within the food industry, Angie looks after all things paperwork and logistics based in the studio.

Angie is meticulously organised, writing lists for her lists and her answer for everything is a coffee and an excel sheet.

As well as being Jess’s actual Mum, she is very much our studio mother and makes her entrance into the studio every morning with the biggest smile, freshly washed hand towels and coffee pods.

  • Arturo

    3D Modelling & Rendering Artist

The oracle of software and all things specialist modelling. Arturo joined the JMD team from the moment we opened, initially helping Jess with occasional complex modelling from his home in Torreon, Mexico.

Once he completed his degree in Mechanical Engineering and after working with us via zoom for 2 years, he joined us here in the UK and now looks after transforming our designs into photorealistic visualisations. He is also incredibly talented at modelling, so any specific complex items we include in our designs, Arturo will model them to exact reality, so clients can visualise everything perfectly.

Arturo is loving the UK and learning new northern phrases and in his spare time loves to explore.

  • Mia

    Interior Designer & FF&E Coordinator

Joining us straight from Sheffield Hallam University after studying Interior Architecture and Design.

Mia has an innate love for classic contemporary design, natural textures and soft tones, but loves working on the variety of projects that come through the door at JMD. Mia has such a methodical approach to her work, and loves to get to know and develop a relationship with our clients to understand and translate their personalities into the schemes we create for them.

In her free time, you’ll find her walking her beautiful dogs Zoe & Luna in the Peak District countryside and exploring new places to eat great food with her family and friends.

  • Tino

    Architectural Designer

Graduating from Sheffield Hallam University with an Architecture degree, Tino joined the team to fulfil his passion for interior architecture and focus his innate appreciation for detail.

Tino’s knowledge and experience surrounding Architecture & Design, affords him the keenest of eyes and allows him to implement a methodical and perfectionist approach to his work. Tino specialises in technical detail and architectural regulation, working alongside our FF&E team to create stunning lighting and spatial schemes for our projects.

Tino is a classic creative, also dabbling in fashion & photography in his spare time.

  • Nic

    Interior Architect & Designer

Nic graduated in 2017 from Nottingham Trent University in Interior Architecture & Design.

Before joining JMD, Nic was an Interior Designer in an AJ100 architectural practice – working on large scale projects in the UK, Korea and locations across Europe.

Nic is meticulously organised and is very much an all-rounder, effortlessly turning her hand to all phases of the design process, being an incredible spatial designer and scheme creator, but also takes a leadership role in project management and logistics with her experience.

Living just around the corner from the JMD studio, Nic combines her love for design with being a wonderful mum to her adorable daughter Freya.

  • Brad

    Architectural Designer

Brad graduated from John Moore’s University in 2018 with a degree in Architecture and has worked in various roles across the industry gaining experience before joining JMD.

Brad has such a huge passion for design and architecture, specialising in the exploration and manipulation of space and interior layouts. Brad’s understanding and vision for spatial compositions is incredible and he is completely OCD about his work, making sure that every detail is perfect.

Personally, Brad has a huge appreciation for simplicity and the art of minimalism, making sure everything has a function and a purpose.

When he’s not in the studio, Brad can usually be found outdoors on his motorbike, in a kayak or climbing a rock face.

  • Tess

    Social Media Manager

Tess is currently studying Media Studies and joined the JMD team to streamline our social platforms and put her passion and understanding of social media into professional practice.

Tess’s focus is consistency across platforms and ensuring JMD comes across in the way we want to: light-hearted and friendly but incredibly professional and passionate. Her understanding of trending songs, reel lengths and hashtags amazes us daily.

In her spare time, you will find Tess spending time with her family and friends and going on long walks with her softy of a Cane Corso Tommy.

  • Rex

    Head of Puplick Relations

Rex is our resident top dog and adores his days in the office with the team. Rex is a Rottweiler and categorically the biggest softie, he loves cuddles and greets the team every morning with the best hugs and kisses. Half the week he is here with us in our gorgeous studio and the other half of the week he spends with his dad (Jess’s partner) in a fabrication shop… so quite the contrast!

  • Zoe

    Pawject Manager

Zoe is our resident Cocker Spaniel, and the queen of sleep and cuddles. She greets us every morning with the waggiest tush and spends her day snuggled into Rex.

Nic – Interior Architect & Designer

“After working in the industry in some of the top architectural and design practices, I’ve found my true home at JMD. The way we design, work and operate is like no other company I’ve experienced, but it’s right in every way. Our clients are our focus, alongside maximising budgets and space, working so closely with families and businesses to create designs that are so important to them and being able to personally experience their reactions and utter appreciation for what we do is amazing and so rewarding.”
