Our process has been developed over years of experience and tweaking, to focus on our client journey and experience.
The core elements of our process have been broken down into 6 categories to offer an overview of how we work and the journey you undertake as a client of JMD.
We have streamlined our working structure to be completely experience and work flow focused, as our primary goal is that you as our client are beyond happy and enjoy every step of this incredibly exciting process. Alongside the process, is the relationship we develop. Some projects, if you’re undertaking a large scale new build or renovation project for example, can be years in the making, so having an amazing relationship with your team design is imperative.
Initial Consultation & Space Planning
We begin any project with a site survey and kick off meeting to discuss and explore your brief and spaces at length. Our priority is to fully understand you and what you’re wanting from your space.
Space planning is the most important component of a successful interior design scheme. Our team of interior architects and designers have the software, skill, and the vision to explore and determine the best possible layout for your space. We ensure you make the most of every square meter and achieve a layout that works most effectively, with budget and efficiency as key priorities.
Once the internal spatial has been meticulously designed, we then develop the fixed furniture & detail within the space to include wall & ceiling design (i.e. panelling, coving, and other architectural detail), cabinetry design and a completely bespoke interior design proposal.
FF&E Design
We then create the full interior design scheme to suit your brief.
Everything is created completely custom to your needs, i.e. if you have 300 pairs of shoes we will create a design that allows space for all of them! Part of JMD’s ethos is driving all creative design decisions based on the client’s culture, tastes and interests, ensuring each new project produces an entirely unique design, tailored to you.
We afford so much consideration to our clients’ individuality and creating a design that reflects this. We have developed an incredible range of suppliers who are leaders in their industry, meaning that when considering soft furnishings, hard finishes and custom designs, we can implement and specify the best quality of finish to suit your budget and requirements. This protects your investment and ensures design longevity.
Presentation of Design Proposal & Technical Drawing Pack
A huge part of our process is modelling in 3D. For us this is the most effective way of designing, so we can ensure everything works perfectly within the volume of the space and not just on a plan. We take you on a journey of your newly designed spaces to enable you to see the full JMD vision from every angle with complete clarity, and see your design scheme come to life.
In order to ensure your design is implemented perfectly, a crystal clear understanding of every detail is paramount. The 3D walk through is supported by an in depth technical package created to translate and fulfil the design scheme.
Physical Selection of Custom Finishes & Fully Costed Design Breakdown
All bespoke elements custom to your design (such as cabinetry, bathrooms tiles, loose and fixed upholstery and decorative cushions) are curated from our vast sample library of hard and soft finishes and presented for your sign off. This is such an exciting part of the process as the design really starts to come to life. We have developed an incredible range of stunning fabrics and finishes which allow us to create the most beautiful schemes that our clients can touch and feel.
Once the design proposal is signed off, we then provide a fully costed breakdown of all items implemented into the design.
All Trades & Custom Elements Implemented & Overseen
We have developed a collection of partners in the trade that all deliver the highest quality of finish and project delivery; we are extremely particular about who we put our name to recommending. We can look after selection and employment of the principle contractor if one isn’t already assigned, who can complete all works from minor internal additions to full scale demolition and renovation.
We work in extremely close proximity with on-site trades, to ensure the design and project are delivered to the highest standard, with regular site visits from your dedicated team.
All bespoke elements such as cabinetry, kitchens, bathrooms & furniture are overseen by us. We create the initial design, of which we then develop with specialist suppliers and oversee the technical design and installation.
Full Design Delivery & Turn Key Styling
JMD are on hand to take responsibility of the design installation until the day of delivery. Once final snags are rectified with the on-site contractor - which we fully oversee - the space undergoes a complete build clean.
The project is then handed over to us to style and add finishing touch decor pieces, and we ask for a day on site (increases by amount of rooms) to complete the final touches, we then handover the spaces to the client upon completion for them to finally enjoy and start living / working in.
